The chalk ridge between Guildford and Farnham

The Hog's Back is one of western Surrey's most recognisable landscape features: a narrow chalk ridge forming part of the North Downs. Surrey County Council's landscape assessment identifies the ridge as important both for views of it and for the wide views from it, while the A31 follows the ridgeline between Guildford and Farnham. The surrounding slopes include scattered homes, farmsteads, common land and routes into neighbouring villages.
